Game of Thrones

Like every other action show lover out there, I loved watching Game of Thrones.  I have missed the last few seasons and instead of binge watching everything I missed I decided to just read the books, like a fool I might add.

I have downloaded it onto my kindle and plan to sort through this complex world that I have come to love.  Not sure if it will be something I will get through but I have had this on my bucket list for some time.

Wish me luck!

Day 3 – Couch to 5K

I am using the 5K Runner app from FITNESS22 LTD on my iPhone for this bucket list goal.
Week 1/ Day 3

5 min warm-up

1 min run + 1.5 min walk (8 times)

5 min cool down

Total time: 30 mins

Before: Well rested and ready to hit Day 3.  I choose a small, flat area that I would run in today to help me concentrate on breathing.  This is something that I had trouble with on Day 2 with the hills.

Afterward: Still feeling pumped.  I feel like I could have ran for longer and my pace was faster today at 1.62 miles. I did something different this time.  During the walking portions of the exercise I would slow my pace and concentrate on relaxing again so I could run a little hard on the next round.  Averaging 18 minutes is not bad for walking most of the time.  This will increase as I go and I can’t wait until I can hit my first mile without stopping.

Day 2 – Couch to 5K

I am using the 5K Runner app from FITNESS22 LTD on my iPhone for this bucket list goal.

Week 1/ Day 2

5 min warm-up

1 min run + 1.5 min walk (8 times)

5 min cool down

Total time: 30 mins
Before: I’m not really feeling it today because I have walked so much this last week, 37 miles.  That’s almost 10 more miles than I walk normally in a week. I may need to find a partner in crime that can keep me on track for this goal.

Afterward: Started out good.   I decided today to run in a different area and had not taken into account all of the inclines of my new route.  I knew I was in trouble around the halfway mark.  I won’t lie, I didn’t run but 7 of the rounds and ended up walking the last round.  I still felt like I had accomplished more than I did last time and will choose my next route a little wiser.   I now feel like I was hit by a truck.  Can’t wait for the next round. *Note sarcasm.

Day 1 of Couch to 5k

I am using the 5K Runner app from FITNESS22 LTD on my iPhone for this bucket list goal.

Week 1/ Day 1

  • 5 min warm-up
  • 1 min run + 1.5 min walk (6 times)
  • 5 min cool down

Total time: 25 mins

Before: I have just recently started walking again in the last two weeks or so. I get anywhere from 8,000 to 15,000 steps in a day so I think I’m ready.  Today I woke up feeling run down but I will still manage to get this done TODAY!

Afterward: Started out good.  By the 4th round of running I could start to feel it in my calves and I noticed my breathing getting rougher.  6th round ended in mutiny.  My legs turned into jelly when it changed back to walking. But I will survive!
